Presidential Gun Drawing on March 12th

Last year, BVFD started back up our Gun Drawings to benefit our Apparatus Replacement Program.  The last 5 Gun Drawings (500 tickets) have been SELL OUTS.  Many of our “preferred buyers” have asked about doing a bigger Gun Drawing.  BVFD went to the drawing board and designed another fundraiser that others will again try to duplicate.  On March 12, BVFD is having its first “Presidential Gun Drawing”.  This Drawing has 1000 tickets.  Each ticket gets you a chance on the 20 guns on the ticket, full buffet meal, refreshments and dessert.  Tickets are only $20 presold, or $25 at the door (if any are left!).  BVFD would also like to point out that ALL guns that are on the ticket have already been purchased and are available for pick up on March 14th.  BVFD expects to have another SELL OUT, so get your tickets now.  All “preferred buyers” will be getting their tickets this week.  If you would like to purchase a ticket or help sell these great tickets, please contact Chief Spielman at 717-677-0870 or 717-677-9234.  More info will be posted as the Drawing gets closer.  Below is a copy of the ticket for your viewing.  THANK YOU

Blizzard ’16 Reponses

With the Blizzard of 2016 starting to wrap up, BVFD is still staffed by Volunteers for any response.  The Duty Crews took in an MVA, Medical Response, Mutual Aid Box and a 1st Due Box during the Blizzard.  This is on top of the many un-dispatched investigations that the Crews handled.  Last night as the snow was starting to let up, Adams dropped the box for the report of a house on Oak Drive (27-6 Box).  Engine Tanker, Engine, Brush 27 all responded and with the assistance of the Franklin Township Road Crew arrived to find a furnace malfuntion (explosion) with a small fire.  The box was quickly held to “27”.  BVFD would once again like to recognize Franklin Township for the endless support and with out the roadcrew we would have never been able to access Oak Drive.  Above are some pictures from Oak Drive.

First Due for the House

Yesterday, at around 1600 hours the Box was Dropped for a reported woodstove fire in a house on New Road (27-4 Box).  Engine Tanker 27 arrived on the scene shortly after dispatch with normal conditions from a double trailer residential.  A quick investigation found a fire in the walls and floor area around the woodstove.  Extensive opening up and overhaul was needed to handle this incident.  Company 27 had the Wagon, Pumper and Brush on scene.  Thank You to the mutual aide Departments for your assistance.
