Buchanan Valley FD was featured in the Gettysburg Times yesterday on its 30 year history of our Traditional Pork & Sauerkraut Dinner each New Year’s Day. Ours crews delivered our usual top of the line meal to over 500 people. If you have never attended a fundraising event at Buchanan Valley FD, our events are posted on the Event Page. This Monday (Jan 1st) is our Annual New Years Day Dinner. This tradition has existed since BVFD went in service. Doors open at 10:30 and we serve till 1. Adult meals are $9, kids are $5 and we do offer carryout’s. The meal is served “Buffet Style” and of course has Pork and Sauerkraut as part of the buffet. Your meal includes the full buffet, refreshments and dessert. Come out and start 2018 with your friends and family at the Buchanan Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
The Officers and Members of the Buchanan Valley Fire Department announce with great sadness and heavy hearts, the death of James Arter Jr (“J.R.”). J.R. leaves behind a wife and young daughter. We ask that you keep J.R.’s family & friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Details of his services will be announced when available. Today, Brush 27 w/ 4 responded to the 2600 Block of Shippensburg Road (52-105) for an MVA. Brush 27 arrived to find 1 auto off the roadway with negative injuries. After a short period on the scene, Command 52 returned all units.
Early this Morning, Engine Tanker 27 w/4 responded to assist Franklin Fire Company (Station 4) with a working house fire on Bell Avenue just west of Chambersburg.
