The Pride Continues at The Valley

Firefighter Brett McDannell saw a problem at the 27 house and found a solution while adding a little pride to the firehouse. As many are aware, BVFD is very fortunate to have many volunteers, especially during our fundraisers. In the past, we assigned firefighters to the apparatus by pen and paper. FF McDannell found a vendor and created this sign board that will hang in the firehouse for years to come.

New Years Day brings working Building Fire

Engine Tanker 27 & Engine 27 with crew of 11 responded to this commercial building fire on Chambersburg Road (Box 4-1) in Franklin Township. Several Adams County departments assisted Cashtown FD with this working fire.  Initial companies arrived to find fire showing from the front. Several Lines were stretched and worked this stubborn fire. Crews remain on the scene at this time extinguishing several hot spots.

House Fire in Mont Alto

Engine Tanker 27 and Engine 27 responded mutual aid to Franklin County to assist on the working house fire at 3765 Club House Road Box 5-01. ET27 provided manpower to assist with overhaul. Crews brought the fire under control quickly. No injuries were reported

Committee heads to Pierce for Pre-build of RE-27


Buchanan Valley FD Apparatus Committee members are busy in Appleton Wisconsin at Pierce going over the specifications and meeting with the vendor who will build the new Rescue Engine 27. As the process continues, we will continue to update our followers with the progress. Once again, this project would not be possible with out the tremendous support of the community, Franklin Township, and the hardworking Volunteers of BVFD27.

RESCUE/ENGINE 27 responding to an emergency near you in mid 2017

The Buchanan Valley Volunteer Fire Department membership is excited to announce the purchase of RESCUE-ENGINE 27. This purchase is the final stage of several years of planning. The Apparatus Committee was formed in January to review and build a piece of fire apparatus to replace the aging Engine 27. After several months of meetings, and trips to various vendors the committee proposed their recommendation to the department at the August  meeting. The decision was unanimous ! Below are a few detailed items of the new RE27. The complete drawing is posting above.
