Path Valley Annual Parade

Last Evening Buchanan Valley FD Volunteers participated in the Annual Path Valley Parade in Dry Run. After members spent the day detailing our apparatus, we headed over the mountains to one of the largest remaining firemen’s parades left. Buchanan Valley FD Proudly received the following Awards: 1st Place: Engine Tanker, 1st Place Brush Unit, 2nd Place: Rescue Engine, and 2nd Place: Overall Best Appearing Department.

Accident on the Flat

Shortly after 7am, Brush 27 was dispatched mutual aid to Cumberland County for an Auto Accident at Shippensburg Rd & County Line Road Box 252-105. Brush 27 arrived finding a single vehicle accident verses a fence. Brush 27 began providing EMS and assessing hazards. Brush 27 cleared a short time later.

Cumberland County Woods Fire

Yesterday Afternoon Brush 27 was dispatched to Woodrow Road in South Newton Twp Cumberland County for a Woods Fire. Brush 27 with 3 responded. Brush 27 arrived and was assigned to setup water supply. Brush 27 drafted from a nearby pond located in the woods. In the Videos you can view 2 air drops. Brush 27 cleared several hours later

Crash on Big Flat

Brush 27 was alerted and responded to the Cumberland County Box 252-01 to assist on an Auto Accident. Brush 27 arrived and assisted with establishing a Landing Zone for air medical.

Brush 27 assisting on Mountain Fire

Brush 27 is currently assisting Franklin County units on a Mountain Fire on White Rock Road. Additional Photos will be posted later

Brush Fire on Appalachian Trail


Friday Afternoon 9/23, Brush 27 was alert to Cumberland County Box 2-52 in the 200 blk of Ridge Road for a Mountain Fire. Brush 27 with 3 responded assisting the 52 units with locating the fire. The fire was a 30 ft area located 1.5 off the road near the Appalachian Trail. Firefighters carried rakes and bladder packs back to extinguish the fire. PA Dept of Forestry is investigating.
