Rescue Engine 27 with a crew of 6 transferred to Hampton Fire Co #10 this past Sunday while their department worked a fundraiser event. The Rescue Engine was dispatched on the 1st Alarm assignment for a Working Barn Fire at 650 Rife Rd in Box 11-4. RE27 arrived and establish a draft at a nearby pond. The crew worked for a few hours before being released by command. Prior to the Barn Fire the crew assisted with a medical incident at the event.

Over the Weekend, BVFD Volunteers kept busy with responses while also taking a much needed break for our Annual Membership Appreciation Banquet. On Saturday the Engine Tanker w/ 5 responded on a woods fire on Rocky Mountain Road. After staging for a period, ET-27 was returned. During the Banquet a Medical Emergency was handled. Sunday started off with a reported land rescue on Pine Grove Road (27-3). Engine Tanker, Brush and Chief 27 responded w/ 12. Brush 27 arrived to find 1 patient having a medical emergency 300 feet off the roadway on a hiking trail. The response was quickly held to Brush 27 and EMS. Around 1700, the Engine Tanker w/ 6 responded on the WFD to 2376 Loudon Road (18-13) for the working barn fire. ET-27 was on the scene for several hours. Engine 27 & Engine Tanker 27 was alerted early this morning on the Working Fire Dispatch to Knoxlyn-Orrtanna Road in Box 1-3 for the Barn Fire. Units arrived with fire conditions throughout the building. BVFD 27 Units shuttled water to the fire scene from the fill site while firefighters assisted with opening up and extinguishing the fire. Just a reminder to our followers, it is 13 degrees out while firefighters are battling this fire.
At 15:42 hrs Engine-Tanker 27 was alerted on the Franklin County Box Alarm for a Barn Fire at 2815 Newcomer Road (Box 17-7). New Franklin’s 1st arriving units found a small fire in the barn and made quick work of the fire.
