The Buchanan Valley Volunteer Fire Department membership is excited to announce the purchase of RESCUE-ENGINE 27. This purchase is the final stage of several years of planning. The Apparatus Committee was formed in January to review and build a piece of fire apparatus to replace the aging Engine 27. After several months of meetings, and trips to various vendors the committee proposed their recommendation to the department at the August meeting. The decision was unanimous ! Below are a few detailed items of the new RE27. The complete drawing is posting above.
2017 Pierce Arrow XT Rescue Pumper
525 HP Detroit Diesel Motor
Seating for 7 Firefighters
2000 GPM Pump
1500 Gallon Water Tank
20 KW Generator

“DCFD” Low Rear Hose Bed
9 Pre-Connected Hose Lines
4 Pre-Connected Holmatro 100’ Reels

The Buchanan Valley Volunteer Fire Department would like to end this post with thanking the residents and visitors for your continued support. Without your financial support, the added monthly Gun Drawings and the support of Franklin Township, this purchase would not have happened. We are looking forward to working with Cyle Sheafer of Glick Fire Equipment throughout the rest of this project. It is anticipated to arrive in early Summer of 2017. Mark your calendars, and come celebrate on October 4, 2017 as we host the dedication of Rescue Engine 27. As the project develops, we will continue to post updates.
