Rescue Engine 27 transfers to Mont Alto

At 03:30 hrs this morning, Buchanan Valley FD was alerted to Mont Alto FD to cover their 1st Due while their department assisted in Waynesboro FD on a Working Fire Assignment. Rescue Engine 27 with a crew of 7 handled the transfer for a few hours, before being released.

Snow Day doesn’t stop a Training Day

A scheduled training day of Module C for the Firefighting Series Class at Buchanan Valley FD aligned with the first snow storm for the Valley this year. Students enjoyed the snow flakes falling as well as achieving their practical skills stations at the same. The saying is “We fight fires in the snow, so we train in the snow”. A great day was had by all !

RE27 transfers to Fayetteville

RE27 with 4 handled a transfer this morning to Fayetteville FD while their units worked a Building Fire in Chambersburg.

27 assists Game Commission with Search

Earlier today (12/6) Buchanan Valley FD, along with FL Squad 7, FL Brush 16 and Fayetteville EMS were dispatched to assist the PA Game Commission (Adams 414) with searching for a missing hunter with a possible medical emergency in the 200 blk of Newman Rd (Box 27-2). The crew from Brush 27 used the Chief’s Buggy to proceed back the access road off Newman Road, as remaining units staged on the hard road. As crews arrived at the hunter, it was determined to be a Good Intent call.

Woods Fire

Engine Tanker 27 & Brush 27 was alerted just before noon for a Woods Fire on Church Road, Box 27-1. Brush 27 arrived making access to the area while ET 27 staged on the road for water supply. The assignment was held to 27. The units cleared in 30 minutes

Transfer to Upper Frankford, then to the Scene

Early this morning Engine Tanker 27 was alerted to Cumberland County Station 48 to back fill as the area units battle a Barn Fire. ET27 with a crew of 5 covered  the transfer, for a couple of hours before being called to the scene to assist.

Brush 27 to Gettysburg on the Brush Task Force

This afternoon, several units  from Adams County were alerted to the Gettysburg Battlefield off Baltimore Pike near Culp’s Hill for a brush fire. Brush 27 was dispatched on the county Brush Unit Task Force.  Brush 27 arrived and assisted with mopping up hot spots.
