Yesterday, Prior to the Presidential Gun Drawing, Our 1990 Pierce Arrow Engine was picked up by its new owners. Buchanan Valley Volunteer Fire Department bought this piece from the City of Roselle in 2003. From 2003-2008 we ran it as the Wagon (Engine Tanker 27). After the purchase of the new Pierce Engine Tanker in 2008, the 1990 Pierce served as the Pumper (Engine 27) until last week. This Engine served the Community excellent for 14 years. Many of our Volunteers will greatly miss this Engine a lot. BVFD would like to thank the Cheriton Volunteer Fire Company in Virginia for the purchasing our 1990 Pierce. Volunteers from Cheriton drove it home yesterday and are busy today getting it ready to serve another rural Community. The above picture was taken yesterday prior to leaving for Cheriton. Pictures will be posted when received of its new lettering, and from what we heard, there will not be a lot of changes. This Engine is being replaced with our new Rescue Engine that should be in “The Valley” the 2nd week of May.
