3 complete this years Junior Firefighter Academy

Three Buchanan Valley Juniors Members completed the 2017 Franklin County Junior Firefighter Academy, as well a 2 senior members served on the academy staff. Each year BVFD sends a group of Junior Firefighters  to attend the week long academy. The junior firefighters from throughout the area arrived last Sunday and graduated this Saturday. During the Academy, the Junior Firefighters learn firefighting skills, participate in team building activities, attend workshops of guest speakers such a well known fire service leaders Dennis Rubin and National Fire Academy Superintendent Tonya Hoover, and learn life building skills. Cadets also complete activities such an housework, laundry, dishes etc. The Buchanan Valley FD would like to Thank the Franklin County Junior Firefighter Academy for the opportunity to participate once again, and we look forward to future years with new BVFD Juniors.
