The Buchanan Valley Volunteer Fire Department has had a strong Junior Firefighter Program for many years. Currently we have 12 Junior Firefighters in the Program. Junior Firefighters are young men and women ages 12-17. These young adults learn more than Fire and EMS, but life skills as well.

The Junior Firefighters have their own Meetings and Training nights. Tonight, was their May training night. They drilled on hand lines and water flows, while other members were working on drafting and pump time. Afterwards, the Juniors decided to get a group picture. Currently several Juniors are completing their "fire training" and others will be starting their EMT Class in June.
