In the summer, BVFD was awarded a very nice grant for the purchase of rope rescue equipment. BVFD teamed up with Salus Rescue Solutions LLC to lay out a package that would be a great start and allow for future growth. A part of the project was also that BVFD would host an array of rope rescue trainings. This weekend 10 BVFD Volunteers completed the "ropes/rigging" course via Bucks County Community College. This great class was instructed by Anthony Chen and allowed for BVFD to complete hands on portions in our Primary Response area.
Today, BVFD placed in service our rope rescue kits on both Rescue Engine 27 and Brush 27. These identical kits contain 600' of rescue rope, to many "rope items" to list and 2 harnesses each. Upgrades were also completed to the strokes baskets on both units. Pictures are of the hands on portion today as well as preplanning for the next course. And, yes the Reservoir is very low.
